The "Party of No" Commander in Chief Cheney Speaks

As I posted on the CNN's blogs my now infamous title for the GOP as "The Party of No" a/k/a the P.O.N's are up to their dirty tricks again. The P.O.N. has their head "Opposer in Chief Cheney" trying to dogg our President Obama live this morning on the news. As I sit watching our Ex-VP Cheney try to demean and slam our current President in order to justify the horrible decisions made by the Bush Administration, I feel disgusted and angry. The last time a State official stood up to the President even when they were in the wrong was Alabama Gov. George C. Wallace's 1963 stand in the Tuscaloosa schoolhouse shown in the photo. Cheney's Propaganda is Unbelievable and Despicable.

A terrorist plot was foiled this morning in New York yet all Cheney can say is Obama is not protecting our Country. Huh? The P.O.N must really think we are ignorant fools, as if all of us were not informed during their Administration of their deceptive tactics and clear failures against the American people. Sounds like Cheney is attempting to create a smokescreen to keep us from digging any further into their manipulation of our laws regarding torture.

I am having a hard time understanding how Cheney can be allowed to make rebuttal speeches after our President speaks. Cheney's speech is a sleazy, abomination of the truth. I am appalled at their audacity to twist the truth. I find the P.O.N.'s way of rebuttal to be disrespectful and almost Coup-like propaganda trying attempting to draft people into a rebellion against our current President. How can these behaviors continue to be allowed? This seems to be a new tactic of Carl Rove that is rearing its ugly head. I can't get the nasty taste out of my mouth.

Its incredible that these men of the P.O.N. believe that they can justify their lies and vengeance by ridiculing our elected President after Pelosi agreed to seize impeachment proceedings against Bush and Cheney. If the people had their way we would have impeached them both. Its as if they can not accept that they lost and are trying to create a coup against Obama. I would consider this a security risk to the community as this retaliation is not helping but hindering our moving away from the cold war mentality. They actually are trying to say the Obama Administration is concealing information. How ridiculous to claim after this country has been lied to over and over again by the Bush Administration for almost a decade.

Palin "Spreads the Wealth" In Alaska - Socialism?

THE FACTS:

In Alaska, residents pay no income tax or state sales tax. They receive a yearly dividend check from a $30 billion state investment account built largely from royalties on its oil. When home fuel and gas costs soared this year, Palin raised taxes on big oil and used some of the money to boost residents' checks by $1,200. Thus every eligible man, woman and child got a record $3,269 this fall.

She also suspended the 8-cent tax on gas.

"We can afford to share resource wealth with Alaskans and to temporarily suspend the state fuel tax," she said at the time.

PALIN'S REASONING:

Palin's statement talked about the energy costs burdening Alaskans:

"While the unique fiscal circumstances the state finds itself in at the end of this fiscal year warrant a special one-time payment to share some of the state's wealth, the payment comes at a time when Alaskans are facing rising energy prices. High prices for oil are a double-edged sword for Alaskans. While public coffers fill, prices for heating fuel and gasoline have skyrocketed over the last six months and are now running into the $5- to $9-a-gallon range for heating fuel and gasoline across several areas of the state."

HUMMMMMMM Sounds alot like socialism to me.... is it bad?

In an interview with The New Yorker last summer Palin explained that she would make demands of a new gas pipeline "to maximize benefits for Alaskans":

"And Alaska we're set up, unlike other states in the union, where it's collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs."

Take Nothing for Granted!

You could be denied access to vote, many states will not allow you to wear campaign t-shirts or buttons, etc. into the polling places.

Avoid provisional ballots, they are counted last, only after being verified, and in some cases may not be counted at all (if the election in that area is not close) or may be counted too late to make a difference in the election.

If you can correct your registration before election day, do so and vote normally (or vote early).

If you cannot correct your registration and your only choices are voting on a provisional ballot or not voting, vote on a provisional ballot!

THE PROBLEM: "Straight party voting" on voting machines is revealing a bad pattern of miscounting and omitting your vote, especially if you are a Democrat. Most recently (Oct. 2008), a firm called Automated Election Services was found to have mis-coded the system in heavily Democratic Santa Fe County, New Mexico such that straight party voters would not have the presidential vote counted.

STRAIGHT PARTY VOTING is allowed in 15 states. Basically, it means that you can take a shortcut to actually looking at who you are voting for and instead just select a party preference. Then the voting machine makes your candidate choices, supposedly for the party you requested... to avoid problems, vote for each candidate individually. DO NOT SELECT THE ‘STRAIGHT PARTY’ VOTING OPTION.

HOW TO PROTECT THE COUNT against Straight Party Trap:

1. NEVER CHOOSE THE STRAIGHT PARTY VOTE OPTION, because it alerts the computer as to your party preference and allows software code to trigger whatever function the programmer has designed.

2. SEND THIS INFORMATION OUT TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN, blog it, root n' toot it out there to get the word out.

3. ESPECIALLY GET THE WORD OUT TO PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING STATES, which have straight party voting options:

Alabama, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin

Voter Suppression Alive and Kicking Us!!! This is serious!!!

This morning I heard more reports on CNN and MSNBC about more complaints involving voter suppression,voting machine errors and more. I decided to research all the States that were said to be affected and I came across a report that was released on October 27, 2008. This link will take you to a PDF document that will give you the details on a Voter Suppression study that was conducted by the Brennan Center for Justice at the New York University School of Law. I have to say I was extremely shocked and felt distressed over the results.
